Information on Operation Christmas Child

we are going to be packing shoeboxes to send across the world with Samaritan's Purse ministries: Operation Christmas Child. If you'd like to find out more about them here is their website

All of the information listed below is also on our linktree.

If you would like to participate, there are a variety of ways you can get involved.

One- You can pack a shoebox with your family. At our last meeting some of you grabbed a label for the shoebox with details on how to pack it. There were also special coloring sheets for your child(ren) to fill out to send inside the shoebox. You can use a shoebox from home. purchase a small plastic bin around the same size, or get a box from us at our November 14th meeting.
If you'd like more info on how to pack a box follow this link You can also see the attached graphics.  Please be sure to follow the guidelines, there are a number of items that are not acceptable (like candy, toothpaste, war related items etc).

If you have brand new items like a Barbie Doll or Matchbox Car, they ask that you take the items out of the packaging before putting them in the box. The children may not always be able to dispose of packaging so it is very helpful to limit waste.

There is a $10 fee per box, this covers shipping as well as the materials they use to share the good news of the gospel. This can be paid online via this link - If you received a paper label, you will enter the code online to activate your label. Labels can also be printed.

You can bring your completed box to our November 14th meeting or Packing Party and we will drop them off or you can drop them off on your own at Hawthorne Gospel Church the week of Nov 17th-24th anytime from 2pm-6pm.

Two- Attend our Packing Party on Monday, November 17th from 7-9pm at Grace Church in the Annex (the house connected to the Grace Church parking lot). RSVP here We are asking those who attend to bring a dish to share. We will be putting together shoeboxes with donated items.

Three- Purchase items off our Amazon Wishlist for us to use at our Packing Party. We are also asking for donations to help cover shipping costs for the boxes we pack at the Packing Party. If you'd like to donate you can either give cash or via venmo - @Gina-Perone-1.

Four- Bring gently used small toys and stuffed animals to the November 14th meeting to be used in the shoeboxes! We can also use school supplies like crayons, markers, pencils etc. Check the gift suggestions list and see if you have anything at home that you can pass along!

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions! I know it's pretty complicated!
